Eductional trip to Biržai

On 16th September a large group of students, mostly sixth grade students, went to the north of Lithuania. The purpose of the trip was to learn more about the nature and the history of northern part of Lithuania. First of all, we visited the Biržai Castle and got acquainted with its history. There we even were allowed to lift the replicas of ancient arms and coin money ourselves. After that, we inspected sinkholes which are typical to this region of Lithuania. We learned how they formed during the centuries and explored their upper layer. Next, we went across the longest bridge over the lake and visited the building of an old mansion. Finally, after visiting a small zoo and Likenai spring, we came to the mound. There we had dinner and spent a great time. Having spent the day on an educational trip, we found out a lot of new things and experienced great adventures.





European Day of Languages


The 26th of September is the European Day of Languages. The students of grades 5 – 10 prepared a power point presentation to this day. They presented the European countries which our Comenius project partners are from. Attention was paid to Comenius project countries nature, culture, traditions, and features of the languages. The participants of the event found out a lot of interesting and useful information about Portugal (form 5), Bulgaria (form 6), Slovakia (form 7), Romania (form 8), France (form 9), and Spain (form 10). These countries sayings, courtesy phrases hymns sounded in some presentations. The English teacher D. Poškaitienė wished the students to learn more European Languages.


Vegetable Fair


Autumn is a great time to eat a lot of vegetables, accumulate reserves of vitamins in our bodies for all winter. That,s why the 5 th – 8 th formers’ healthy eating habits event Vegetable Fair, which took place on 30 th October, encauraged students to find out nutritious and healing properties of vegetables. Children tried dishes from zucchini, pumpkin, pepper, celery. The fifth formers brought a lot of healthy dishes from pumpkin; the sixth formers presented creative exhibits from zucchini; the seventh formers gave useful information about celery and the eighth formers made a visual poster about peppers. At the end of the event the students exchanged the recipes and tried their own cooked food.




Primary School Students Autumn Festival

On 30th October  Autumn Festival was organized by Primary School students. The students of grades 1 – 4 drew pictures of fruit and vegetables. After that they made a poster from them which showed what benefits fruit and vegetables provide to human health. They talked about the importance of eating autumn Fruits grown by themselves. Later the students arranged mosaics from fruit and vegetables in the territory of school, created a kind of pictures. The festival finished with active tasks and cheerful relays.
